08/18/08, New York, NY Hi There Everyone! Truly, this summer has been a testament to how wonderful life is when one lives according to the Laws of Nature. The fruits of this lifestyle have been so abundant that it sometimes feels like I will burst with joy -- I long for everyone of you to feel the magic too! I'm speaking for myself but also for the many who have contacted me to tell me just how much they are loving life having chucked the old habits and programs of the "common ways of living" and taken on these higher truths. In between soaking up sunlight, bouncing on my trampoline and jumping into rivers and oceans (when I get out of the city), I've been writing my new book, Detox For Women at a breakneck pace to get it out to you as soon as possible. There is so much new information to share that I cannot wait to give you (it's for men too -- despite the title)...but alas, it won't be out until Spring '09. The information on my audio release by the same title offers some information you can adapt immediately in a condensed 45-minute session until the book is available. I apologize to anyone I haven't been able to get back to for a private session or who may have had a question. I'm really the only one who can answer these questions and there's simply no time -- I work around the clock as it is (as my husband and children will confirm)! I love this work and I wish to uplift each of your lives with what I have learned but there is truly only so much time in the day (and night) and my children are the ones who get sidelined if I give more than due time to my projects. They will be needing me even more now as they enter 1st and 3rd grades and school-work requires increasing attention so please be understanding (besides which I really don't want to miss this time with them)! My plan for managing my service to you and upholding my end for my family is the following: 1. The release of Detox For Women in '09 which will have in it all the information you will possibly require. I ask that you read more deeply when you have questions you would like to email me as the answers are really all there and in past writings. 2. I plan to offer a conference call each quarter where I will answer questions that come through during the prior quarter that need to be addressed. 3. I plan to update all my student teachers and update the site with their contact information so you all can reach out to them for support. 4. My website will be re-launched in the next few weeks to provide more clarity and better organization for you to get your questions answered and receive inspiration and motivation to keep you on track.

I will always keep a few spots open for private sessions (in person and via phone) for those of you who truly require one-on-one support but this will be a much smaller part of my work.

07/02/08, New York, NY The Summer Of Our Absolute Content: Hi Friends, Isn’t Independence Day wonderful? Not just because we got our freedom from monarchal rule but because it celebrates FREE WILL. Free will is the most precious inalienable right there is and, despite all the finger pointing other countries may do at us (and that which we might even do at ourselves), we can choose the path we like every moment of every day in this country. Here’s the caveat: the thing about free will is that it is absolutely useless if you don’t know what your options are. How are you supposed to pursue happiness if you don’t know what happiness even is? How can you pursue a healthy, radiant body if you don’t know what that’s supposed to look and feel like or how to get it? We don’t have many good examples of the human potential for happiness and health in the media or among our peers. Independent thought and action is not being exercised when one follows the herd mentality or is governed by anything outside oneself. For example, if you are addicted to substances in foods that keep you reaching for them (coffee, flour, sugar, drugs, etc), you are not independent. Your choices are colored and controlled by the hold these outside substances have on you. Likewise, societal norms have a hold on most and direct their every move and choice. Independence is something altogether different. It is being free of puppet strings so you can think for yourself. But thinking for yourself is not true freedom if you are only thinking from your lower self (your physical wants, material needs, sensory desires). True free will is exercised when you have access to your WHOLE self including your highest self (power of mind, unlimited potential, governor over your lower self). Unless you are connected with the highest part of yourself, you will always be governed by your knee jerk lower self inclinations (which are largely programmed by addiction and social norms). It's for an inadequately-governed "lower self" that things like the Ten Commandments were requried and deadly sins had to be pointed out. When you link up with your highest mind then you have the free will to follow the highest you know (if you so choose). If you don’t have access to anything higher than your programs and patterns (an out of control lower self) then you are not really free and what you think of as free will is really just you doing what your lower, chemically addicted, programmed self directs you to do. True independence is the freedom to pursue the highest you know and if it doesn’t bust you right out of social programming and make you contemplate things in a new way then you probably haven’t left the proverbial “front porch” of independence. It is only by becoming free of the addiction to substances and people pleasing that we can move into a space of true free will. Anyone or anything that takes away or even diminishes your authentic free will is anti-life, anti-growth and anti-the real American Way. If I hadn’t ignored all the voices and norms and instead reached for full out independent free will based on the highest I knew at each turn, my turns would not have taken me up the spiral ladder of truth as they have and I would be a sick, heavy, depressed, rapidly deteriorating mother of two kids who would definitely have gotten screwed up! This was where I was headed if I remained governed by the norms of the day. I'm about to offer you some premises upon which I believe real understanding about health must be founded. These premises come from putting my head together with my collegue and good friend, Gil Jacobs (you can contact Organic Avenue (212) 334-4593 to find out when he will be offering lectures) and bring to light the most advanced knowledge I have on health and human evolution. I'm delighted to finally share this with you and I hope they will help lift you up the ladder and beyond your former limitions. Each premise is fairly direct. Take time with each premise as they will answer most of the questions you have when reflected upon and taken together with the others. NONE of this material should be taken out of context of the larger group of premises – this would distort and corrupt the knowledge. It must be taken as a whole to remain pure. Use your own soul confirmation to decide if what you read is true. If you resist it, that’s ok. No one is going to be upset or offended. This information is here for those who have longed for it. MAJOR UNDERLYING PREMISE: You are one with the GREAT POWER OF CREATION (GOD) but you have followed a plan that has blocked your access to this power. This power is manifested in the mind which is the God Kingdom as well as in the body which conducts the electromagnetic manifestation of GOD power (the current of life-force). This power is well within your reach as long as you remove the blockages to it. It's always there -- even while humans with their misguided lives, goals, distractions and herd mentality miss it. The recovery of the electromagnetic current in the body directly supports the individual’s ability to discover the kingdom of God within and return the reins to that true source. As the individual undertakes this return from corruption of body and mind there will be a great purging and burning off of old ways and habits. Some of this will be enjoyable but some of it will be greatly daunting. It is advisable to prepare for both experiences. The change and effectiveness will be directly linked to the individual’s ability to continue to move forward. You can regenerate yourself and come back to your full power. But the orthodoxy will be largely needed to be thrown out and some unorthodox methods will need to be implemented. Fear not. The right side of life is brilliant and peaceful. There is nothing dark here. The darkness is living the old way with the old belief systems. The advanced knowledge liberates whereas the old belief systems imprison. MINOR PREMISE #1: The cause of all illness is waste matter sticking and poisoning human tissue. The correction of all illness is the removal of this waste matter. How we approach the removal of the waste matter (which we call the TRANSITION) is the key to success. PREMISE #2: The matter we speak of comes from the consistent intake of non-human food which is everything other than raw fruits and vegetables and their juices. PREMISE #3: We can make the biggest strides toward healing our world through tissue cleansing. The natural state of a clean body is happiness and peace. Cleansing the human tissue can do for the world’s ills everything from war to depression. These issues are all rooted in the human tissue. The poisoning of the human body is the cause of violence, crime, anger and unnatural human emotional expression/experience. The corruption of the human body through the consumption of non-human food leads the individual to states of pain and away from happiness which is our natural state when the body is cleansed. If a large enough percentage of the culture engaged in tissue cleansing (particularly the leaders and future leaders), the earth and humanity could be salvaged and made radiant. The poisoning of our bodies leads us to look outside of ourselves for satisfaction – to power, ownership, money, sex, etc. A cleansed body does not have any inclination to corrupt money, power or sex. Those who do this work awaken to the madness of our group habits and move toward peace, acceptance and love. The analogy between the poisoning of our earth (landfills, deforestation, over consumption and wasting of resources, etc.) is a direct variation to the physical body. As above so below. As we reverse this in ourselves we will naturally reverse it and heal the planet. PREMISE #4: The purpose of tissue cleansing through transition diet and elimination is not to get our diets right or to live longer or to stay out of doctor’s offices and prescription medications, it is to bring an end to the emotional and psychological suffering that is manifested in untoward actions to ourselves, others and nations. PREMISE #5 The lineage carries the corruption of the body these foods impose through the physical fingerprint of the DNA – resulting in the degeneration of each proceeding generation. In this way, the offspring are born more compromised (less purely human and more prone to physical and mental illness) than the previous one. This is why our children are getting sicker and heavier younger and why birth defects and infant/ childhood illnesses like autism, ADHD, etc are on the rise. The only cure for the March of Dimes children, Jerry’s kids, childhood cancers, leukemia, etc. is to clean up the corruption of our DNA through deep tissue cleansing. PREMISE OF TRUTH #6: Allopathic medicine observes what the general population exhibits; if they are asymptomatic (meaning they are not complaining of a particular symptom) they are considered “healthy.” As long as they cannot pinpoint a blatant illness, a patient will be deemed healthy (despite latent illness proliferating in the body). Most of our culture is asymptomatic but only a minute portion of the culture is healthy. Research is never done on purely clean celled individuals – there maybe the odd study on vegetarians or vegans but as we know, these groups are not healthy either merely because they omit animal products from the diet. Drugs are tested and deemed “safe” if they do not appear to lethally harm an organ or individual over the test period. Long term use reveals organ damage and birth defects. Finally, because the connection between waste matter in the tissues and illness is not made and offered to the patient as an alternative healing choice, all that can be offered is the repression of the symptom. Healing is never accomplished -- only temporary silencing. This is unacceptable and is a perversion of the term Health Care. PREMISE OF TRUTH #7: Once one is poisoned to a certain degree (i.e. is overweight, has modern ailments, etc.), allopathic medicine works for them because it makes their life more comfortable (for the time being). This person is dependent on modern medicine and would be ill advised at this stage to expect alternative healing modalities (acupuncture, chiropractics, faith healing, etc.) to offer a real solution. Antibiotics, for example, are necessary for someone living “commonly” who is suffering from bronchitis. It’s not until a person has effectively cleansed their tissues long enough that they will be free of these illnesses and be independent on allopathic medicine. An individual looking to cleanse must keep this in mind. A few weeks or months of cleansing is not usually long enough to remove the depth of poisoning that will free one from this false health paradigm. Most alternative healing is ancient such as Chinese and Aruyvedic methods. They are subtle healing modalities for subtle illness. Modern illnesses are not subtle so we cannot depend on them to fix modern man either. PREMISE #8: Vitamins, minerals and “superfoods” are not the answer. They are a waste and a distraction. When malnutrition comes up in blood, hair or urine analysis it means that the food you’ve been eating has stuck like glue to your tissues and the noxious gasses it creates are eating the minerals and vitamins up. All “vitamin-pushers” work off the premise that imbalances can be corrected by replacing substances that the body is lacking – implying that health is what we put into the body. This is backward and reveals naturopathic healing to be exactly the same as allopathic medicine – treating the symptom instead of the cause. There is only one cause for nutrient deficiencies – the clogging of the body from permeated waste. What this waste does, where it accumulates and the extent to which it accumulates determines the nature of the imbalance. The poison simply eradicates the healthy, self-regenerating tissue we were born with. When we understand that health is having a clean celled body that will naturally regenerate itself we will stop asking the question: “Where do I get my (protein, XYZ vitamin, trace minerals, etc.).” When the poison is removed the body can start to regenerate itself without prioritizing of nutrients. An alkalinized, cleansed body never has to worry about the minutiae of nutrients. PREMISE #9: Non-human food is the great silent addiction. Just like a heroine addict, when a given poison is put into the body to such a degree it becomes your food. You will function better when you have your poison than when it is withheld. Coffee addicts function best when they drink coffee, coke addicts function best when they snort, Americans function best as long as they keep stuffing themselves with their poisonous food. The fact that people eat food and feel better is not because the food is healthy it’s because they offer a fake energy. PREMISE #10: Detoxification is tangible and visible, not an ethereal concept. You must see the waste matter leave the body for it to be a real detoxification – otherwise it is only a potential detoxification. If a supplement, fast, liver detox, psylium, bentonite or any other product is actually a cleanser, you will see copious amounts of matter leaving the body when you consume it. If you do not, you have not cleansed. In fact, these things are not cleansers – they only offer the body a chance at cleansing. Some of them are irritants such as the ones found in laxatives (senna, cascara segrada, etc.) which only shake loose some matter and make you think you have cleansed but push matter deeper into the tissues. Others are great “awakeners” (juice fasts, cleansing diets, psyillium and bentonite) which is quite different. The awakeners simply draw up the waste by resting the body from digestion (as in the case of fasting and cleansing diet) or absorb waste (as in the case of psyillium which absorbs 10X its weight in waste and bentonite which is earth/clay and absorbs acid waste). In order to invoke true detoxification the matter must LEAVE – there for we need to AWAKEN and RELEASE! This is where bowel cleansing should be understood as not only advisable but imperative. PREMISE #11: Clinging to a dietary label such as “raw” or “vegan” or “macro” is not part of health. Progress toward clean cells is. When one engages in the equivalent of religious fervor over a dietary plan, one must be sure to see what the real origin of that need to evangelize or be dogmatic comes from. The need to label is a need to define or feel superior. Clean tissues help dissolve the ego. If the ego grows and clings to labels and judgment of others, this is evidence that cleansing is not taking place. Further, watch for gatherings around non-health generating substances under the guise of health such as events celebrating chocolate or support groups for raw or vegan dieters. This work is meant to make life better. If a support group is needed this is evidence that either the point is missed and things are going woefully wrong with the process. Support groups are for those who are grieving or suffering, not for those who are transitioning and cleansing their cells. Those who do this right feel like celebrating and do not need encouragement to keep going despite some emotional or physical barrier. This is always an indication that true cleansing is not taking place. PREMISE #12: Colonic irrigation must be done correctly and in tandem with the transition diet for it to be of use. Colonics in the absence of cleansing diet are ineffective and cleansing diet in the absence of colonics are largely ineffective. Colonic irrigation that uses pressure rather than natural gravity can have unfavorable results as it can push the matter back up the intestines leaving one worse off. PREMISE #13: Transition diet needs to match the degree of poisoning, not the individuals zeal to cleanse. The diet-cure alters based on how bad the illness is. The speed and intensity is what changes – a person needs to crawl before they can walk up the health ladder. We look for progress, not perfection. PREMISE # 14: Not everyone is ready to receive the truth. We must be careful to respect all views as we step forward. In this way we never become egotisical, dogmatic, judgmental, pushy or superior. Teach yourself and guide those who are truly interested. This work is not for everyone. Not everyone cares, not everyone wants to change. It’s ok to be one of few. This is for the few who will, in time, become the many. This time when you look around at the flags flying and burgers flipping (do I need to point out the irony?), remember what this holiday is really about. Remember what freedom is really about. And when you look at all the bright eyed American kids in your neighborhoods and parties consider that they are watching you and learning how to be a grown up from you. Are you going to show them what it means to be a herd animal so they can become one too? Or will you reach for the next rung on the evolutionary spiral of life and show them there’s more to freedom than video games, cars and malls. May you receive this in the spirit of the highest good of mankind's independence and may there be fireworks in your heart!

I have a new book project in the works and am putting out a call to all the women who have had success with my program -- particularly with the adaptations from the audio release, "Detox For Women." I need your success stories for the new book! The book, which will come out next spring is designed to be the silver bullet solution for women. Many of you have wonderful stories of your journeys both from mainstream diet to this way of eating as well as from typical raw food diet mishaps to the guidelines particular to this program. The idea is to collect powerful stories and then include them in the book to inspire other women. The goal is to lift the sisterhood up with this information! 05/28/08, New York, NY Do you ever feel lonely as you pursue the truth about the human diet and the higher truths of life? If I had a tomato for every person I’ve spoken to lately who has brought up the aspect of this lifestyle that makes you feel totally alone in this endeavor I could make a batch of gazpacho big enough for everyone reading this. I am the first to admit that turning your back on the common ways of thinking, living and eating is challenging. I’ve felt deeply lonely at times. I’ve cursed the fact that I had to give up eating certain foods and drinks, I’ve felt massive disapproval from the crowd for challenging commonly accepted beliefs and much, much more. But the bliss that comes when you live according to the advanced truths and the freedom that comes with using your highest mind to guide your life is the incomparable reward. Whenever one moves away from the herd mentality and toward advanced knowledge (followed by the very few) there is at first a feeling of loss, of deprivation, of solitude. This is the moment when the knight comes face to face with the dragon. The decisions are 1) run from it (return to the comfort of the herd) or 2) to slay it (partake of your soul’s deepest desire for growth). There’s no question that It’s scary to turn away from the common, accepted ways of doing things. It takes courage to stand up to the masses, social norms, parents, friends or spouses and say, “I’m not going to do what everyone else does anymore because it is not serving my highest good.” So many of you are coming to the realization finally that all that you’ve been told about food, health, the origin of illness and the methods of correcting them are wrong. But that is not an easy place to find yourself when it feels like the rest of the world is going along with all the nonsense and often appears to be fine. When you see people appearing to be thin, happy and without obvious illness as they continue to consume the common foods and drink the common drinks, it can be incredibly frustrating and make you wonder why you have chosen this path and why you have to work harder than other people to be lean or healthy or mentally clear. What you forget is that other people are not functioning well – they need their coffee or their cigarettes or their drugs to keep them functioning. You have no idea what they do to create the appearance of being ok. I work with models, actresses, socialites and the story is 99% of the time the same: they either eat next to nothing (purge if they do) or live off of chemical stimulation. It’s not helpful to compare yourself. You will get lonely if you allow self-doubt and the fear of fully leaving the herd behind to keep creeping up. This will leave you in the most uncomfortable place of all – the stuck place -- where you are looking at the truth while still slumming it with the herd. This is when the moment of truth arrives and presents you with the opportunity to slay the dragon. So we bought the bill of goods for a while and fell into the herd and believed what we were told about what life should be about, what’s good for us, what makes us “good” citizens and productive people – what can we do now? Those who are ready can choose to move forward. The only thing that keeps one from moving forward is personal choice. You can continue to follow the path of least resistance (the herd) or you can exercise intelligent resistance and choose the higher path that lets our soul grow and brings our body radiantly to life. In truth you are not alone. If you all knew about each other you would feel a part of a very special community. If you knew how many brilliant people – highly educated, hip, awake people have come to the same conclusions you have you would leap up and slay the dragon faster that I can open a young coconut. But that’s the rub with dragon slaying – it’s not supposed to be easy. The dragon is not meant to look like a mouse otherwise it wouldn’t build your strength and it wouldn’t be a feat. You are the frontline of this movement clearing the path for those that will follow and need the path to be well-lit. The herd is on the broad path that leads to destruction. Whenever you feel torn over the changes you are making, remember that the masses are blindly following an erroneous set of rules concocted by an even blinder authority that removes the power of every individual that is part of it. The narrow path is less frequented, indeed, but those that are on it have their power intact. It not only takes courage to slay the beast but it requires a willingness to take personal responsibility for your choices to follow the narrow road. Finally, might I remind you that that narrow road leads to life. If you are feeling frustrated, looking back on foods that you begrudgingly find yourself realizing it’s time to give up (or belief systems that have worn out their welcome), I highly recommend following your soul’s impulse to leave the herd and fly like an eagle into the light that independence and advanced knowledge bring. 04/23/08, New York, NY All about FASTING!! Water fasting, the Master Cleanse, juice fasting, liver cleanses, blended food fasts…the list of different types of fasting go on and on. There’s never been more interest in fasts and “cleanses.” Unfortunately, there have also never been more misnomers about fasting circulating. Having received dozens of fasting questions in my inbox this month and just completing my own Spring fast it seemed the perfect time to shed some much needed light on this great ancient cleansing method. From a purely physiological standpoint, the whole point of fasting is to rest the system from digestion so that all the body’s energy can be used to improve the functioning of the body (there are of course other non-physical reasons to fast but I won’t be addressing those in this blog). Eating, assimilation, digestion and elimination take a lot of energy away from necessary functions within the body (such as keeping the body clear of the residue from meals past, turning over new cells more quickly, metabolizing substances efficiently, etc.). When the consumption of substances (food, drink, pharmaceuticals, cigarettes, etc) are taken in the quantities they are taken in our culture (meaning 3 times a day or more), it’s impossible for the body to keep a smoothly operating system. If it helps, imagine an assembly line that has run amok. That’s your body on 3 meals a day (plus snacks -- eek)! Inevitably there is gross back up which creates our physical (and many emotional and mental) imbalances. When we fast, we give our body the opportunity to catch up on the back log of work that has piled up. The cessation of consuming food is a powerful tool when executed correctly, but done incorrectly, it can be a major health misstep. Following are some tips to ensure you get the most out of your fast/cleanse: 1. Determine what level of fasting is right for you. If you are relatively new to cleansing there is not likely a need to do an all out juice fast. Fasting too early in the transition is just not usually necessary. When people start to eat according to the principles in my books, the applications of properly combining Quick Exit foods and juicing until lunch create such an opening in the body and a dramatic shift in what the body is used to taking in on a daily basis that the body immediately starts to go into cleansing/healing mode. Fasting is not needed and in fact, not recommended since it would only encourage more old waste to be dredged up than the body could cope with. Just as you would not go from a sedentary lifestyle to running the New York marathon in a day, the same logic applies. Simply incorporating the principles at this stage is equivalent to a fast for the beginner. One of the things that distracts people from going at their level are the reports they hear about how quickly you can lose weight on a fast. For example, they will hear that a friend lost 20 lbs on the Master Cleanse and immediately think they should do that too. Please don’t fall into that trap. Know your level and be intelligent about how to approach a cleanse. Most people have no idea what they are doing but are just going on whims and fads. Rest assured, if you steadily apply the principles you will enjoy maximum weight loss. It won’t be weight loss in a vacuum which is what most people get which sends them careening to the opposite extreme time and time again. When you cleanse in accord with nature, weight loss, inner calm, clarity, beautiful skin tone, natural energy and overall rejuvenation come together. This is the prize. So take your time and don’t get distracted by what other people are doing. When you switch from your old diet to consuming the highest quality Quick Exit meals and substituting vegetable juice for solid food for breakfast, you are removing so much of the digestive burden already and you will see tremendous results without having to do a full-fledged fast. Notice that when you juice until lunch you are In fact undertaking a mini-fast – you are fasting between dinner and lunch the next day! Mini-fasts, such as “juicing ‘til lunch”, that become part of one’s regular day-to-day lifestyle are the most beneficial types of fast for most people because they offer long term protection against over accumulation on a daily basis (akin to making sure the garbage doesn’t overflow in your kitchen everyday). This is extremely beneficial and can help keep you in excellent balance and at a perfect weight for life! 2. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you can be redeemed from your excessive consumption over years of unfit eating by a few days of juice fasting. The accumulation in the modern body is so extensive that what you might “cleanse” in 2-4 days of juice fasting is a drop in the ocean of people’s internal waste matter. This is not to discourage you, but to point out that a short fast is no more of a cleanse than cleaning out a baggie worth of rubbish from an overflowing trash can. You will feel a sense of well being relative to your state of toxicity, but don’t be fooled into thinking this means you have tapped the depth of waste that is buried within the tissues. The only way to do this is by consistently eating Quick Exit foods, juicing in the morning (or later as the case may be) and preferably keeping your daily meal intake to 2 meals a day (lunch and dinner). As I have said before, 3 meals a day is just too much food for the body to easily process. It may seem radical coming from the mainstream mindset, but the fact is, anyone who wants to experience true health and vitality should not be eating 3 meals a day. Fasting between dinner and lunch the next day is the tried and true course. From this perspective, you can see why such regular mini-fasts are more effective in deep cleansing than placing the occasional longer fasts among a typical diet/lifestyle. If you return to old habits (as in the case of most people who undertake the Master Cleanse for example) you have a false sense of having cleansed. Your health is a reflection of your daily consumption; the effects of occasional fasts will be lost like words written on the beach. 3. The difference between a cleanse and a potential cleanse? All fasts and anything that is billed as a “cleanse” or “detox” product is only a POTENTIAL CLEANSE. The cleansing part only occurs when the dredged upl waste matter LEAVES the body. Just because you’re fasting doesn’t you’re you are cleansing. Do you see the critical difference? In my extensive experience with detoxification, even people with the strongest bowels cannot eliminate the quantities of waste a fast dredges up without the help of colonics, enemas, saunas, sunbaths and body brushing. If you are attempting to cleanse in the absence of these, you are not actually cleansing at all. You are simply awakening matter. When you awaken matter without releasing it you feel miserable. This IS NOT A CLEANSE! This is the antithesis of a cleanse. What happens when waste is awakened but not released is a condition called auto-intoxication. One is simply re-intoxicating themselves with their own awakened poison – it goes back into the tissues and bloodstream forcing the body to reabsorb the waste again. This is why most people who are fasting or doing some sort of “cleanse” do not usually look well, suffer from fatigued and experience undesirable symptoms such as headaches, depression, joint pain, stomach cramps, night sweats, skin eruptions, etc. According to the Los Angeles Times, sales of herbal cleansing products tripled to nearly $28 million worldwide, (from a report by Spins, an When one is truly cleansing (when the awakened waste is released) one feels terrific. When I do a long juice fast (which I do about 3-4 times a year for about 8-10 days), I feel more energetic and clear than I do when I am eating. In fact, with a proper fast, the faster feels better on day 7 than on day 3. However, its important to note that beginners and even veteran fasters will tend to feel a little less than their best in the first 24-48 hours of a fast as they adjust. But after that initial adjustment, if you are truly cleaning you will feel like you are cleaner, lighter and clearer – not like you want to curl up in a hole somewhere and wish that it was all over! 4. According to The Los Angeles Times, the "Master Cleanse" was the most-searched recipe on Google in 2007. This proves just how popular cleansing and fasting has become and also how many people are getting the wrong information around fasting. The Master Cleanse is NOT recommended! This ultra-popular lemon juice, maple syrup concoction may be taking the pounds off people but it doesn’t hold a candle to juice fasting and it can do more harm than good. The Master Cleanse is popular because it offers a quick, inexpensive fasting experience. The fact is that most people will feel great after the Master Cleanse because they will have given their body a break from food. Additionally, the first time someone fasts it is such a shock to the body that the body will often eliminate some waste. But this does not mean that this method is a good method. It just means there may be an element of “beginners luck.” But again, the point is for fasting to be part of a cleansing lifestyle not just something that works temporarily the first couple of times. The Master Cleanse has some things going for it such as there are enough electrolytes and sugars to keep people from passing out and it is a fast. But that’s where the benefits end. Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is a healthy way to fast just because it’s popular, cheap and convenient. Not only does the Master Cleanse starve your cells and fail to support the body with all the enzymes and life force it needs to rebuild while resting from digestion but the maple syrup component feeds yeast which almost all women in this country have too much of to begin with (it is virtually impossible to lose weight and feel better if you are feeding yeast). 5. So what is the best way to fast? If you have decided to fast, the best approach is a predominantly vegetable juice fast. You can mix any veggie juice combinations you enjoy but I recommend making at least half of the juices green-based such as the Green Lemonade or a simple carrot-romaine combo. The other juices could be citrus or fresh pressed fruits (in small quantities best diluted with water or green juices like romaine lettuce or spinach). You may also enjoy herbal tea with stevia or fresh vegetable broth (very useful when fasting in colder months or for a fasting “dinner”). I also love pure carrot juice with pumkin pie spice which I like to drink from a mug! Somehow this gives me the satisfaction of soup without the fiber. Just be sure all your juices are well strained as we are trying to avoid all fiber so that digestion is never stimulated during the fast. When you fast on vegetable juices you feed your cells enzymes, chlorophyll (sunlight), life force, vitamins and trace minerals ensuring that you are feeding the cells all they need and more so they can powerfully go about the business of awakening and releasing as much accumulated waste as possible (again with the help of gravity method colonics). The ideal fasting approach is to eat clean, Quick Exit foods as a daily experience and then juice fast a few times a year to go a bit deeper. This is the way to make real headway on the accumulated waste in the system and prevent your body’s “assembly line” from every running amok again! 6. Will I lose weight on a fast and will it stay off? Will my metabolism slow down if I stop eating breakfast? Does fasting slow the metabolism like people say? Yes, you will lose weight on a fast – usually around 1 lb. a day. The weight that you lose during a fast can easily be kept off by eating Quick Exit foods when you return to eating and juicing until lunch (as I noted above, this is a general prerequisite for long term health and weight management to begin with). Of course, if you return to eating less ideally, you probably will not keep the weight off. Weight is accumulation of waste matter in the body. When we remove the accumulation through cleansing, we remove the weight. In order to keep it off, we simply must prevent against re-accumulation of waste. We do this by ensuring the food we eat leaves our body as completely as possible. This is the point and effect of Quick Exit foods and eating no more than two meals a day (once one has transitioned at their level). In terms of metabolism, a well executed fast actually improves metabolic function. The concept of the body’s metabolism has been misunderstood and taken out of context for too long. The metabolism is not some phantom part of the body that operates in a vacuum. No, every single system in the body is constantly metabolizing substances that threaten its pristine state. Metabolizing is the never-ending breaking down of all substances that enter an organism. Metabolism exists to keep the body clear and functioning optimally, despite all the interactions the body has with foreign substances (food, environmental pollution, etc). What we call the “metabolism” is the composite of all bodily systems serving in the following functions and operating from the cellular level: 1) ingestion 2) digestion, 3) absorption, and 4) elimination. When we understand this we can see that maximum metabolic power comes from ensuring there is never more to metabolize than these systems can gracefully manage. Metabolic process begins at the cellular level. Within each cell are all the systems of the whole body (each cell contains and executes every single metabolic process that the larger body does – respiration, digestion, circulation, etc.). The cells are the metabolizers – the first line of metabolic activity. If the cells become overwhelmed and congested (when there is more to metabolize than the cells can handle), the whole body becomes congested and backed up with waste. Going back to the assembly line analogy, imagine if a factory assembly line has more to assemble than there are people to execute the assembly – the whole system backfires! This is what happens when we consume so many substances like we do in our culture – there’s just too much to process so day by day the system gets further and further behind until the sluggishness gets so bad that the cells are overstuffed because they have no chance to process (metabolize) even a fraction of what they need to. This explains why the diets recommending 3-5 meals a day are so damaging and why it’s getting harder and harder for people to lose weight (and why they are getting sicker younger). Giving the body less to process improves metabolic power. This is a revelation given what we’ve been told about putting food in the body to keep the metabolism running. It’s absolutely incorrect. Clean cells create a powerful metabolism and clean cells come from taking in less so the body can catch up on the waste accumulation. When someone is said to have a slow metabolism it simply means their cells have been over burdened so it takes extra long to break down and eliminate substances from the body. When a kitchen gets backed up with orders the food takes longer to arrive. The kitchen can only do what it can do. The same logic applies to the cells. The condition of having clogged cells is now the norm and it is a very slippery slope leading to exponentially larger problems with every meal. Juice fasting, mini-fasts and Quick Exit eating all help correct this problem and, in so doing, support a highly functioning metabolism. They do not cause it to slow down! 7. How much juice is recommended and how long should I fast? You can enjoy as much liquid as you need. As with eating though, it’s never a good idea to over-consume. A good gauge would be 8-16 8-ounce juices (including broths/teas) each day. Some pure water should always be taken when juice fasting. If it’s your first fast and you have already practiced “juicing ‘til dinner” several times or have made that a daily or weekly habit, you could try a 2-4 day juice fast. If you would like to do a longer fast (only recommended if you have access to well administered gravity method colon hydro-therapy), you could go as long as 8-10 days. But only continue a fast if you are releasing copious quantities of waste matter (either on your own or with colonics). If you are not releasing and you keep on awakening matter you will not progress and you could get sick (as I mentioned above; remember un-passed matter gets reabsorbed into the tissues and blood stream re-poisoning the body with the awakened waste matter). The body was not designed to pass 1984’s Taco Bell meal back when you ate it and you cannot expect your body to pass it today in its post-putrfactive form. (This is why good gravity method colon hydrotherapy is so essential when fasting – your body needs help passing this old waste)! One has to exercise a lot of intelligence around a fast. It is not as simple as merely trading in fork for straw. There is nuance and skill involved in guiding yourself on a successful fast. If you are not releasing matter in your colonics/enemas and you are on day 5 of a fast, you should break the fast. The safest way to break a fast is with a salad and steamed vegetables. If you have been cleansing for a while then fruits are the ideal “breakfast.” Fasting newbies, however, should never break a fast with fruits. Know yourself and never forget where you came from. Someone with a history of high protein diets and mainstream foods should NEVER break their first few fasts with fruit as the fruit could hit the awakened matter and blood gasses and make them very sick. Any bad press that fasting has received has come from people doing it improperly. If you do it intelligently, it’s a truly wonderful thing that you’ll want to incorporate into your health program for life! One of the best parts of fasting is that the intestines heal so much when fasting that one’s intestinal fortitude, eliminations and sense of internal calm lasts long after the fast is completed (so long as the faster continues to eat according to the laws of nature as explained in my books). I often marvel at how after the days and weeks following a fast find me even more energized and toned than I was at the tail end of the fast when I thought I couldn’t possibly feel cleaner and lighter. There’s a reason that so many of our great teachers throughout history fasted.
